OK, so I'm doing an attic conversion, and am looking for a pair of speakers for a 12x16 foot room. It's not a listening room, I just want to have a pair of speakers to plug an iPod into (either dock or 3.5mm jack) for occasional listening. They need to be self powered.
I have a pair of Creature IIs in the kitchen, which I love, but I'm looking for something more discrete, they will most likely be bookshelf mounted, possibly in a slight alcove.
Any advice? Thanks!

Oh this will work out well. You might as well ask what food is good.

Wow! Those are sweet, but 350 is a little more than I want to spend - I'm looking more in the 100-150 range. I don't need the iPod dock and power socket on the back etc. I feel like I'm paying a lot for features I don't need.

You might look at some of the systems by Tivoli Audio, especially the Tivoli Radios.

However, I'd highly suggest you just get a stereo amplifier and hook up whatever bookshelf speakers you want. That seems like a more flexible approach that would meet your needs.
