I recently preordered the Iomega Predator firewire 8x4x32 drive, and I am sorely disappointed... I didnt realize it still required external power, unlike the VST, it's larger than i expected, and clunky. To top all that off, i cannot seem to get it to work on my tibook. I've used the Solutions cd that came with the drive, which only installed Toast. I downloaded IomegaWare, and installed the firewire support..

Now when i put a cd (any kind) in the predator, a dialog pops up asking what i want to do with it, if i choose HFS+ or Audio CD, I get Toast and iTunes, respectively.. *however* neither detects a writable drive...

Is it just the TiBook? I've searched around, no one else seems to be reporting similar problems.. I'm at a loss...

I think it is because DiskBurner does NOT support your drive as it is new. What Toast did it come with version 4 or 5? Getting toast 5 might solve your problems.

I think I know. When you install iTunes it gives you a warning that it will conflict with other burning software. So what you can do again is upgrade to Toast 5.01 (that fixes that problem), or you can turn off the USB and FireWire Authoring support extensions and leave the Toast 4 ones on. That should allow you to burn in Toast.

I'll give that a shot, how messed up.

I've gone and tried installing iTunes 1.1 again, but the site just gives me a .pl file, isnt that something?

No, don't install it again, turn off the iTunes extentions and make sure that the Toast ones are on.

Thanks for the help.
