Hi mike,
I believe what you are looking for is KVM (keyboard, video, mouse). Several companies make these... hit the search button (under the post and post reply buttoms, and key in KVM... I believe there are a couple of threads that should come up....)
KVM's are actually awesom devices as they allow you to have several boxes (ie a server and workstation, or server, workstation and laptop, etc) in one area without having them take up too much space. Many businesses use KVM's in their server areas....
regards,
dave

HI Mike,
I missed this post, not, your monitor should not take a hit, the KVM's use good quality cabling so you should not see any noticable difference...
good luck,
dave

Hi Mike,
Here is another awesom resource for you to use as you research solutions.... It is a section of the MacWindows website... specifically on Sharing Keyboards and Monitors.
Let us know what you find and how everything works out!
good luck!
