I had originally planned when I bought my Epson 740i a year or two ago that I would use it on my machine (beige G3) and on my future machine (QS G4). However, the free printer was required, so I am stuck with an extra printer. Does anyone know which one is better or if they are comparable? I'm kind of stuck with this Lexmark Z23 and I don't know if I should use it or not....

Note: I can't use the Z23 on my beige because it doesn't have USB, while I could use the 740i on either because it has both serial and USB ports. Thanks for the help everyone!

If you're happy with the 740's output keep using it. For people, like me, who just need a printer for basic stuff, we don't seem to ever have to pay for a printer agian, they give them away. I would take the Lexmark, get some desicant (spelling?) and a thick plastic bag, seal it up and store it. It will be there it your Epson craps out. I don't know alot about dpi except for what the manufactuer puts on the box, but the dpi listed on the box of the Lexmark is higher. Or you could sell it, but it's so cheap I don't know what you would get for it. If you really just want to get rid of it I know someone who would pay for the shipping. I am happy with the Z32 ( which I got when I bought my system), like I said, I don't need anything really fancy. I am just gald that Apple does bundle a free printer with their systems. The coolest thing was that they don't even charge for the shipping and that )for me) included the seperately shipped USB cable. Just my two cents.
