Warning showed up today for no good reason. No cameras attached, shows in all users set-ups. Restart and or log out/in does not remove it. Everything works as per normal except warning will not dismiss. Warning reads as follows:

(picture of camera/image capture icon) Failed to connect to the device.

-Check the I/F cable connection between the deviceand your computer.
-Please turn OFF the device once, and then turn ON the device again.

Then try again

I'm posting this in case anyone else has this problem. I fixed it by reinstalling Brother twain and application software for my MFC 7820N, which is a great multifunction machine.
Dual G5 2.3 GHz Powermac, 2.5 GB ram, GeForce 6600, Belkin 4 port USB hub,, SyncMaster 21" LCD, iMic.

This seems to be some sort of a bug in the "TwainBridge" driver. If you run the Activity Monitor, and sort by CPU % used, Twain Bridge will be near the top. You can Force Quit that process and the unresponsive dialog box will go away.

Hi Tenders
I had the same problem, googled an answer, and your suggestion worked! I have no idea why. I'm also using a Brother printer so I think I'll reinstall just in case!
Thank you!

I upgraded from 10.4.8 to 10.4.10 this week and same dialog box showed up. Simply reinstalled brxtwain203.dmg and it's all fixed.
