Hello to all.
I just had the weirdest problem of all.
2-3 weeks ago I bought a 23" cinema display. I haven't used it much because I'm waiting for my MacPro to be delivered. I tried it though with my DVI powerbook when I got it. Everything was working fine. I callibrated the display and let it run for a day to make sure that everything is working fine.
So 2 weeks have passed without using it and today I've decided to power it up and watch a DVD on a big screen. But the damn thing doesn't power up at all!!! The powerbook recognizes the monitor and the resolution but all I see is a blank screen. The light (near the bottom of the screen) on the screen that is supposed to be lit up doesn't even turn on!!
What is going on here? Do you think it's the power adapter??
What the hell did go wrong? Ι haven't used and haven't done anything AT ALL!
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

The light (near the bottom of the screen) only comes on when the computer is off or asleep, depending on how you have your system preferences set.

Let us know when you figure out what you are doing wrong.

There's not much I can do. I tried to lower the resolution of the external display but nothing happens. I wouldn't expect to anyway since it doesn't light at all. As the manual says when you turn on your computer the display automatically turns. Since that doesn't happen I'm afraid there's not much else I can do. The strange thing is that my computer can see the monitor. It just doesn't "power up". It's like it can't draw enough power from the power adapter???

Hook it up, set the display up so that it's mirroring, if you move stuff around, can you see it moving faintly on the ACD? Could be that the inverter has failed, either way, just take it back, it's under warranty.
