I'm a pc person and looking to buy an LCD monitor... pehaps two... I've seen Cinema LCD's in the stores, they look exceptionaly well, so I was wondering who builds 'em for Apple? I'd like to get a PC LCD from the same monufactorer if possible...

Thank you.

Double check me on this one, but I'm pretty sure it's Samsung.

From what I have read, putting an Apple branded LCD beside a Samsung LCD shows a difference. I am not 100% on this one, but looking at Apple's Flat panels, there's nothing on the market that compares.

While we're on the topic… does anyone know if this product at http://www.drbott.com/prod/action.la...77&-search
which allows Apple's ADC monitors to be used with Macs with the standard connection also allows the monitors to be used with pc's?

holy **** ! if this thing really works i'm ****ing buying myself a 22" ACD!!!!

Can I use DVIator to use a Windows based computer with my 15", 17" or 22" ADC flat paneldisplay?

We are not aware of a commercially available video card that supports the necessary resolutions and refresh rate to support Apple's ADC. We are excited about the possibility of this option and will let our announcement list know as soon as we find a viable option. Some customers have reported getting their ADC display working with their PC although we are not aware of a video card that supports the video signal necessary for ADC displays out of the box.
from their faq... i wonder if there is a pc dvi card :|

DMK:

yeah, but i still wouldn't buy anything there... i prefer private sources... a lot cheaper and no tax... idea of flushing 700-800 bucks down the toilet sounds to me a lot more entertaining then giving it away to the government...

I seem to recall that Apple invested in a Samsung LCD production plant a couple of years ago, but even if that's true, they might still use other suppliers.
