Hi ya'll,
I have the Harman Kardon Soundsticks connected via USB to my TiG4 Powerbook. When the powerbook is off and I plug the Soundsticks' powercord into an electrical socket, my powerbook turns on automatically.
Anyone else experienced this?
I am just concerned that my powerbook is getting an extra jolt of electricity everytime I plug in the power for the Soundsticks, thus shortening the life of the powerbook.

Hi TiG4, I had a similar issue with my PowerBook Pismo 500 and my SoundSticks, actually I have the harman/kardon always connected to a electrical socket who is connected to a Merlin UPS, a desktop B&W G3 is also connected to the electrical socket and the UPS, then sometimes I power on the UPS to turn on the desktop G3 but not the Pismo, the SoundSticks are also getting power (and please note they are connected all the time to the PowerBook), the Pismo don´t turn on...
I have the battery take off of the Pismo when it is attached to the power cord, but sometimes when the Pismo is off and I insert the battery completely, the Pismo starts up even with the LCD closed.. ??

This happens with any USB device. Try plugging in an external mouse, you'll get the same response.
I don't plug/unplug USB stuff whilst the PB is asleep. Better being safe than sorry.

I do not see how plugging in an external mouse (currently using MS Intellimouse Optical) jolts the powerbook. If the external mouse has a powercord attached to it, and one plugs the mouse into the powerbook whilst the power is connected to the mouse, then it makes sense.
In this thread's scenario, the Soundsticks require external power. And even when my powerbook is turned off with the Soundsticks connected via USB, every time the Soundsticks are powered, the powerbook automatically turns on.
