Having just experienced major problems with my Mac OS X installation, I thought I should invest in a decent backup solution (yes, I don't have any form of backup solution at the moment!).

I have a 40 Gb IDE hard drive with 5 Gb used. I'm wondering what solutions people can recommend for such a setup.

I was thinking along the lines of:
1. an external USB drive for slow overnight backups
2. another internal IDE drive equivalent in size to the first so that i could just duplicate the data on the second drive.
3. a massive form of removable storage. I'm looking for recommendations in this respect...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions....

I use FoldersSynchronizer. I am not using it on X though. I am using 9.1 and it works well.

I have used retrospect in the past and found this adequate, but I think in X it will only work in client mode (meaning you will have to backup to a machine that is using a non-X environment).
