I have been using my Mac for a year now with a 3rd Party 1 GB RAM module installed. Will AppleCare still fix problems if I ever have any in the future?

Thanks,
Mason

They will only fix apple provided and/or installed hardware, that is if the memory was installed by you or a non-apple authorized rep and was defective they will not provide support if any problems are related to memory.

Would uninstalling the RAM before sending off the Mac allow AppleCare to fix the problem (if there was a problem)?

The only time they would not help is if the ram itself is causing the problem. Have you tried to fix it by removing the memory?

I don't have a problem with my memory. I just wanted to know how AppleCare would cover me for this kind of situation. Will they still cover me if I uninstall the RAM before shipping my Mac off to AppleCare?

you will not need to remove it. they will cover anything not caused by the ram.

AppleCare requires that you remove any non-Apple hardware (including RAM) before sending it to Apple. That's why you keep the original RAM.
