What are the advantages of an LED screen opposed to an LCD, besides less energy use? will they last as long/longer? I suppose the macbook wouln't get as warm either.

Better color accuracy and range.

More durable (no CCFL to crack).

While that may be the case, I cannot say I've had any LCDs crack on me. How much of a problem is that, i.e., fragility of the CCFL?

The LED screens are still LCD panels, they just have a LED Backlight.
