Using Sharp Voice Recorder With Mac OS X

I have a problem with using a SHARP voice recorder with my Mac, it saves the recording in a ".s16" file format. There was no software that came with the recorder since it was bought on eBay. What should be used to open up the file or convert to a readable format?

I've done a lot of research and it looks like I will either need to install Boot Camp or Parallels for proper compatibility.
