The burner on my Dual 1ghz G4 MDD has gone out and I need to replace it. Kinda glad actually because it only burned dvds at 1x speed.

So what is a good internal replacement for this drive?

Thanks

The Pioneer DVR-111D inside my MDD works great with 10.4.x

I guess newer Pioneer DVR-112D would echo that.

Obviously an OEM drive that MCE puts their brand on ( probably LG or Sony ).

Fortunately most, if not all, DVD±R drives work out-of-the-box with Macs now, unlike before where you need iTunes/Disc Burning support specifically from Apple or a third-party hack. I've been partial to the Pioneer drives for the main reason they've worked well in the past, but I've also been happy with cheaper offerings from LG, Liteon, and Samsung.
