I'm looking into buying the HP laser 2605dn. I looked for a thread on this and found one that dates back to June 2006. I will be using it at home. I want it to work with Airport Extreme G/N, in a mixed of computers running OS X, Windows XP & Vista. I was wondering if anybody here as got any experience using this printer.

Since it has ethernet, you'll just plug it into your network with an ethernet cable, instead of connecting it to the Airport with a USB cable (so unless you have some other reason for choosing the Airport, you could buy a different brand of wifi AP). Universal OSX drivers are available from HP.

Thanks mduell for your response. So I could plug this printer into the Airport Extreme either with ethernet or usb cable? Right?

Yes... I'd go with ethernet, since it avoids adding another layer/opportunity for problems.

So I did finally buy the HP Color Laser 2605dn. $555.00 CDN, minus the tax. I got home, put all the drivers into my 4 machines. OS X 10.4.9 English, XP English, XP French and Vista English. Plugged the printer into my Airport Extreme B/G with ethernet. The printer calibrated itself. Printed a self test to find the new IP address. And everything worked well on my 4 machines. I'm an happy camper.....
