Is it possible to buy a RIM Blackberry 8703e without a contract? I want to use it on a month-to-month basis, so instead of paying $200 or so with a 2-year plan, I'd like to pay $500 for one with no plan at all.

Possible? If so, where?

Given how old the 8700 series is, they should be a lot less than $500... the shiny new 8800s are only $550 off-contract.

eBay has a few in the $100-400 range. And there are even more no contract phones if you omit the phrase "no contract" (eBay search doesn't seem to work so well).

Is there another source besides eBay? Also, looks like there are no BB units with Wi-Fi built-in --- I don't suppose it can be added on?

The upcoming 8820 will have wifi... there are older units with wifi (7something70 comes to mind), but they're just for data and voip; they lack a cellular radio.

Ugh. I need one for work NOW and I'd hate to miss out on the Wi-Fi. I could wait maybe a week or two but that's it.
