The Wi-Fire, released in 2006 for Windows, is a high performance WiFi adapter offering superior range and connectivity over Apple's Airport or other WiFi devices. With an integrated high gain antenna, extremely strong receive sensitivity, the Wi-Fire gives users the freedom to connect to WiFi networks when they want, where they want. Users benefit from the increased mobility and longer ranges, as well as faster speeds from greater distances, as compared to Airport or Airport Express.
The beta trial will begin in late July. Volunteers will receive a beta unit for testing and evaluation, which will be returned to hField Technologies at the end of the test period. (A finalized Wi-Fire will be mailed to each tester when available, as a thank you) Beta testers will be contacted by phone or e-mail several times during the trial so that hField personnel can conduct interviews about user experience and suggestions.
If you are interested, please send an e-mail to
mac@hfield.com, and include a brief description of your typical WiFi usage. We are particularly interested in users who find them frequently unable to connect or maintain an adequate connection or are frustrated with dropped connections.
