New internal HDD: Worth writing zeros

Hi,

I've just a new 750Gb internal HDD.

Now, when I get it installed is it worth me writing zeros to it before use? My (admittedly, probably flawed) thinking is that by writing zeros to it, any bad sectors will be found and flagged as bad.

No, don't bother. You've formatted it for OSX, right? The OS is excellent at managing this kind of thing, you don't need to worry about it.
