Western Digital as Music Server

	I was wondering if using my 500gb external to stream music to my laptop would negatively affect the mybook as it owuld be constantly working. I had been doing this for a month or so before i started getting error 36 which i think is unrelated but I just wanted to be sure this is a safe thing to do
