Okay...I'm nearing the one year mark on my Mac Pro. I love the Mighty Mouse, especially the scroll ball and the squeeze function that launches expose. However, I've had to clean the scroll ball a lot over the course of the past year. A quick cleaning always fixed hang-up problems...until last night. Now, I can hear the mouse registering input from the scroll ball (light, audible clicking) when it's rolled up, left, or right. However, trying to scroll down no longer makes any noise. I'm guessing whatever senses downward motion has died.
Is this a common problem with the Mighty Mouse? I'm sure AppleCare would replace it, but I've been planning on buying a bluetooth mouse anyway. The plan was to buy the wireless Mighty Mouse, but if it's also going to die in a year, I think I'll buy a Logitech or something else and just give up my friendly squeezable mouse. I will miss the functionality of the Apple mouse terribly, but I'm not about to invest $70 in something that will die in a year. What do you guys think? Thanks for any input.
