The Apple Store nearby sells the Logitech QuickCam Fusion, which is capable of transmitting video at 960x720 to the computer through USB.
How do I record this video at a frame rate of at least 24 fps?
* iMovie doesn't recognize the camera (neither '08 or '06)
* iChat does, but until Leopard comes out, I can't record from there
* Actually, I can record iChat video with a plugin called Conference Recorder, but the image size is just barely over 640x480 (and that looks pretty crappy)
* Quicktime Pro recognizes the camera, and I can record with it, but the frame rate is lousy. Looks like it's about 7.5 fps
* The ever-popular "macam" driver doesn't help either with this model
I tried to look into Final Cut Express, but the user manual makes no mention at all of connecting a camera through USB. Looks like FCE and iMovie are Firewire snobs. I hope I'm wrong about that.
Can someone help?
