My 10 yr old Motorola phone is dying. (Yep, I am not a heavy cell phone user but I can see that changing). I do not want an iPhone. From the list of compatible devices that Apple posts that allegedly work with Macbook
http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/devices.html
does anyone have a phone they especially like? I currently have Verizon but am thinking of switchng to T-Mobile since I can get more minutes for the same price, and supposedly I heard Verizon disables some Bluetooth features that would otherwise work with Apple?
Thanks,
Allison

Agreed, you're hardly the demographic target market for the iPhone...

Just remember that if they're not on Apple's isync list, chances are they won't sync, period.

So that leaves pretty slim pickings at t-mobile, like the Nokia 6133 at $50 and the Moto Razr v3t at $100. Considering that you can find an unlocked Razr v3 for $120, where you wouldn't have to sign up for 2 years of service, that's hardly a good deal, though I imagine if you watch the sales, you'll find better deals.

Also, much depends on t-mobile coverage in your area--if that stinks, then dump t-mobile asap. Myself, I'd go to several stores and ask various clerks which of those 2 phones has the best antenna, fewest dropped calls.

Nokia's got the better address books, but maybe Moto has done some improvements lately, no idea about that. Their address book and navigation system used to stink.

I have been using a Treo 650 for a long time and I'm very happy with it - except for the freezes. Bluetooth synching is great for both contacts and calendar (I finally broke down and got Missing Sync - but I went at least 6 months without it just fine). I even hacked the firmware and got DUN working with my AIBook (but it was miserably slow using a standard dial-up via my Treo b/c I didn't get Verizon's high-speed connection). Forget about getting support from Verzion tho. Check out TreoCentral.com. It's a great resource.
