Hi. I use a Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP 20-inch monitor with my PB G4. The questions is, the monitor has four usb inputs. I used to be able to connect other devices through the monitor and my PB would read them (the monitor is connected via a DVI to miniDVI plug). This doesn't happen anymore. For some reason when I plug in a device into the monitor, the device turns on, but my PB doesn't see it.

I'd like to know is it due to some setting I might have accidentally tweaked and turned off this function or what? I'd like to get it working again because the PB has only two usb slots, and when I use the mouse only one is free. Sometimes that's just not enough.

The devices I mainly use are my mighty mouse and external drives. It all used to work!

Help please.

Check that the USB cable from the PowerBook to the display is plugged in on both ends.

My friend, you just made me realize that there has to be a usb cable going from the monitor to the power book. I forgot all about that. I have a strong feeling that that's at the root of my problem.

Problem solved. Thanks a lot!

It's a slight variation of "is the power cord plugged in?"
