As the title really. I'm trying to sync everything up - which I do every week or two and althought the devices are paired the sync is just hanging. I tried sending a file via bluetooth and that was instant? What could be wrong? I re-paired them also and same problem?

I assume you mean the k800i?

- Do you have any phone plug-ins installed? Remove them, and

- make sure your system is completely up-to-date. The k800i wasn't supported until a fairly recent update to iSync.

- Use the software update function on your phone to make sure you've got the latest firmware installed.

I'm not entirely sure whether this happens in the UK as well, but I hear that in the United States, some bastard phone operators cripple Bluetooth (and other) functionality on their phones. If this is the case on your phone, look into getting it de-branded.

My k800i syncs absolutely flawlessly.

yes I do mean the k800i.

I have been syncing this ok since the update when it was supported and the old faiser plugin was no longer needed.

I don't think this happens in the UK. My provider doesn't (Vodaphone), besides I can use bluetooth to recieve and send files, also as remote. It seems to be a specific problem with iSync.

So I can't see how it is the update, however it maybe the firmware, I've had a quick look at the phone and I can't figure out how to update the firmware...you did mean on the phone right? How do I do that?

My k800i syncs absolutely flawlessly.
Did I make it clear my k800i has also been syncing flawlessly until just today and I cannot see what has changed.

Oh! No, that wasn't clear.

To update the phone:

Settings --> General --> Update service.

However, if it has worked fine until today, then your phone's firmware is likely not the problem.

Have to tried to "reset device" from within iSync?
MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA BEFORE YOU DO THIS.

How strange. When I go to settings>general>...there is no update option!
The options I get are:
profiles
time & date
Language
Voice control
toolbar
shortcuts
flight mode
security
setup wizard
phone status
Master reset

Also. I just deleted the phone from isync and added it again - however when the Mac was searching it identified my k8001 as 2 different k800i's only one of which it was able to connect. Now I have connected that one and isync can access it but as soon as I allow the computer to sync it says sync failed!!!

That's because Vodafone castrates your phone with custom firmware that is non-user-upgradable. n:

Anyway, good that you got it working again!
