This happened a while ago so I don't remember the exact details, but I don't think they should matter..

I either turned on my computer from sleep or turned off the screen while I was out of the room (as it is essentially a giant radiator but a bit more pleasing to the eye) and then turned it back on. When I did, a line a pixel wide appeared in the middle of the screen running vertically, from top to bottom. The line isn't quite red, but pink, perhaps magenta, if Apple uses CMYK. I didn't even bother with any of the flashed based fixer-uppers because I can tell its a hardware problem, and it hasn't gone away.

Has this happened to anyone else? I can deal with the line as it is a great monitor, but what can I do about it? Does Apple fix this? Can it be fixed without a new monitor? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you much,
Nathan

I'd call Apple and get them to fix it/send you a new one. That's a very high-end product and you shouldn't have to deal with any hardware issues. I'm guessing you won't have much problem getting a replacement.

Had one two pixels wide on my 30", right in the centre. Couldn't see it on red, blue or green - only on neutral colours.

Apple replaced it with nary a problem.
