Is there a way to get the Motorola S9 headphones (bluetooth enabled) to work on Mac OS X? I've tried pairing via the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, but had no luck with that. Why won't these headphones work under Mac OS X when my Mac has bluetooth capability?

Thanks,
Mason

My bet is that the BT implementation in OS X doesn't yet support Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP) - this is what lets you get stereo reception on headphones. Some mobile phones have it, but not the iPhone, so I'm betting it's not in OS X at the moment either.

Yes, Tiger doesn't support the A2DP profile, which is necessary for BT stereo headphones. But Leopard will support it. It shouldn't be too hard for Apple to provide an update that allows A2DP support in Tiger, but they'd rather make everyone wait, and pay for an entire OS upgrade to get that feature...

I hope they update the iPhone when they release Leopard... I have the best phone on the planet, but I can't use my fancy new headphones with it... GRRRRR...
