I bought one of these back in about march. It lasted 3 days then stopped working completely. I ended up getting a replacement sent out. That one lasted about a week and a half. Now I find myself needing a mouse and I've still got it laying around so I thought I'd see if I could get it working. No dice so far. I can't get the computer to find it when I try to set up a new bluetooth device. It won't charge when I put in on the cradle. The red LED on the bottom won't even come on to signify it's moving over something, even with brand new batteries. Anyone have one of these that actually works? I think this is probably the last Macally product I'll ever buy.

Ah yes. I emailed their tech support about this exact same issue. You'll LOVE their response.
"Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting us.
You need to turn off the mouse while you're charging it.
The cradle may not work if the batteries power level is too low or near
empty level.
Please either charge the battery by generic charger, or use other
re-chargeable batteries to test the charging cradle.
If the cradle still not working, please contact our Return Department at
rma@macally.com or 909-230-6888 ext. 163 for the warranty service."

Haha I love (read: hate) it when Customer Service Representatives completely miss the problem.

Well, they didn't.
The cradle may not work if the batteries power level is too low or near
empty level.
Yes, they actually said you can't charge the mouse when it runs out of batteries.

I had the Macally micro BT mouse. within one year, I had to send it back 3 times for replacement because the charger would not charge. They never said anything about turning off the mouse to charge -- what a pain in the neck! The last one they sent went straight to eBay unopened. Replaced with BT Mighty Mouse and could not be happier (my needs are simple)

Probably too small for day-to-day use, but this IOGEAR BT Mouse has been outstanding to use while travelling. Good battery life and it charges via USB so if the batteries run out, you can still use the mouse while it's charging. Not sure why more companies don't do something like that.

That's sad to hear. Macally's products are usually very good... I assume they haven't quite perfected the whole bluetooth implementation thing yet. Which also probably explains why their BTKey slim keyboard has been "coming soon" for the past 2 years.
