I am in the market for a media reader for my camera. The only requirements are that it reads/writes SD cards and is compatible with iPhoto. I know Apple lists which readers work with iPhoto, but that hasn't been updated for quite some time.
So has anyone got a great SD card reader that works with iPhoto that they recommend? Thanks.

I've got a SanDisk reader, works great with iPhoto. You should get a multi-card reader, only a few bucks more. I can read cards from ALL my friend's cameras. Nice.

What's the model number for that SanDisk reader?

I picked up a SONY 17-in-1 Memory Card Reader (MRW62E) last year and never failed on me. It's able to recognize all types of Memory Stick, CompactFlash I/II, Microdrives, xD-Picture cards, Smart Media and, SD/MMC cards.

If you have a microSD card reader why couldn't you? There are several microSD readers I saw that were Mac compatible.

uh yeah, i went on a mission and purchased like 5 different model card readers that advertised mac/microSD compatibility and none worked. I have a 2GB MicroSD card in my phone, and that sucks.
perhaps I'll re-ask the question in a new thread..

MicroSD card? Does it come with a SD adapter?

Yes, it came with an adapter, I think they all do. Putting the MicroSD card in the SD adapter and then inserting it in the card reader results in nothing happening.
I also just bought a sanDisk MobileMate SD+ which is a small reader that reads SDHC/miniSDHC/microSDHC. When plugged into my mac only SD cards will appear on the desktop.

Have you ever thought the problem wasn't the card reader or the Mac but was the card or some other factor? Try another Mac. If these companies claim Mac compatibility they should be compatible. Are there any drivers needed?
