Hello,

I bought a replacement Superdrive off of eBay a long time ago to replace the one I had with a dying motor. I think that the replacement model I bought is incorrect.

Would anybody with a 1.25 15" Powerbook kindly tell me what model of Superdrive then have? System Profiler -> Disc Burning. I have a UJ-812 which does seem to support disc burning according to System Profiler, but I'm wondering if it needs a firmware upgrade or whether OS X supports this burner at all? When I go to burn a disc, anything I put in the drive reports as an incorrect media type.

[edit] Oh sorry, I read your post as 1.5 12" - my specifications is from a 12" powerbook.

Still useful, it means that an 835E will also work... If I decide to shop for a new drive, I now know that I could use this too (providing it is of the same dimensions and connector type).
