I'm going to have to purchase some hard drives to backup data and replace older drives this week.

I'm thinking Segate Barracuda 7200s unless someone can recommend a different drive.

What's the consensus on the current sweetspot for GB/$$? 750GB or 500GB?

Thanks!
If there were no God, it would be necessary to invent him.

Definitely 500GB. Can be had for $100-$120 from NewEgg.

For the Seagate Barracuda 7200s (the drive I'd recommend even if you hadn't mentioned it), the sweetspot is 500GB (24 cents/GB). If you're tight on cash, 400GB isn't far off (25 cents/GB); or if you want a little more space, 750GB (28 cents/GB) is also close.
