Heyhey all...

I have a new Apple Slim Keyboard attached to my MacPro running 10.5.1, and it keeps pausing my music randomly! I don't think it was a problem before I upgraded to Leopard, so I don't know what the deal is— Any pointers?

Thanks in advance!

run software update to make sure you have the latest keyboard software. There was an update shortly after the keyboards went on sale.

Leopard should bundle with the new aluminum keyboard software. I have no problem using both wired and wireless aluminum keyboards under Leopard. If I were you, I will check the keyboard and mouse system preferences for keys mapping.

I've actually had the keyboard before I upgraded to Leopard, as I implied in the OP, as this has become a problem since upgraded.

I checked the key mapping, and as far as I can tell, there's nothing wonky going on there..

Is it a possibility that the key is somehow short-circuiting, or is being affected by other typing?

Do you know for sure it is actually the keyboard that is the culprit? Have you tried using a different one? Do you use any 3rd party apps like Synergy that can control iTunes? If so is it possible that their settings were reset to a default you've forgotten when you upgraded to Leopard? I use Synergy, for example, and have pause set to Ctrl-Space, even though I never use it. Every once in a while I'll tap that combination by mistake and it'll take me a second to remember that I should turn that hotkey off. I still haven't, mind you....
