Greeting folks, new Mac user here and learning a lot form this forum. Thanks to all for your great advice.
Anyway I have a San Disk Micro Cruzer that I have been using to move documents between my home PC and my work PC. I was hoping to use it on the Mac as well basically to move .pdfs around but when I plug it into my Mac (new 24 inch Imac running OS X 10.5) I get nothing. The light comes on the drive but nothing shows up on the desk top like my other external drive does.
Can I search for the drive somewhere or am I doing something basic wrong??
I'll bet it's because the new Cruzer Micros are "U3" devices. Check SanDisk's site for tech issues with Macs and this product-there may be something very simple that you can do to use it with your Mac.
Apparently it wont work until you remove the U3 launchpad software, Search for the 'U3 Launchpad Removal Tool' on the Sandisk website, though I think it will only launch from Windows, but you've got access to a PC so shouldnt be a problem.
