I got the wireless keyboard today, and i cant figure out how to get the brightness, expose, dashboard, volume, or play/pause functions on the f keys to work. The manual said i had to download the 10.4.10 update, which i already have, to get the software. What can i do?

Did you see a specific Keyboard Update file in Software Update?

Have you checked settings in System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse?

Sometimes reinstalling the latest Combo update fixes some issues like this. Downloading from here for Mac Intel: Apple - Downloads - Mac OS X Updates - Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (Intel)
Or here for Mac PPC:
Apple - Downloads - Mac OS X Updates - Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (PPC)
And then run software update again to check for any missed updates.

And finally, try going to the apple updates site directly and grabbing the relevant updates. Apple - Search Results
