Perhaps this thread belongs in networking. I'm not sure. Essentially, I'm looking for a great USB device server. Are there any recommendations?
I was waiting and hoping for Apple to add a feature like this to the Airport Extreme. Nevertheless, aside from the ability to hook up a USB hard drive or printer, Apple doesn't seem motivated to add the capability to hook up other USB devices, such as scanners, to the AE. (Until they are, I don't see how the MacBook Air can really truly be deemed designed for the wireless world.)
I already have enough Airports to hook up my printers, so I'm looking for something that can handle my old Epson 1660 scanner, my OWC CD/DVD burner, and my RadioSHARK

, if that's possible.
If there is a good wireless device server on the market that's what I'd go for, but I can always hard-wire one to my Aiport. Compatibility and speed are more important that wireless capability here. I've looked at the products by Keyspan and Silex, but many people seem to be complaining about compatibility issues. Has anyone had experience with these brands? Are there any others I should look into?
Thanks!
