I've upgraded my 687MHz G4 to tiger and since doing so my external Lacie D2 HD has not been very happy, when i open disk utility i verify the HD, the verification is aborted by Disk utility as it does not have permission to repair the disk.

This has left me scratching my head as the disk as only ever been used by this aging G4.

Sorry for the lack of info but i'm at work and not with the machine.

Anyone now how to repair this disk??

Thank in advance

I can't see this solving it, but here goes anyway:

- Select the drive's icon
- Press APPLE+I to 'Get Info'
- At the bottom of the window that appears, under 'Ownership & Permission', click on the arrow next to 'Details'
- Click on the little padlock next to the grayed out drop-down menu alongside 'Owner' to unlock it
- Give the user account you're logged in to specific ownership of the drive using the now active drop-down menu
- Now try verifying/repairing the drive again using 'Disk Utility'

It probably won't work, but it's worth a shot.

Good luck,
onlyone-jc.

well i fixed it by using Techtool Pro on a friends old G3 ibook running 10.4. Whatever the issue was it, this was without doubt caused by upgrading to 10.5.

Weired or what?!
