I just purchased a Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision to use with my Leopard based Mac Pro since I read that they work well with OS X but I can't get it to work. I have plugged it into a USB hub and even the USB port on the front of the computer. I have also restarted the computer. It doesn't recognize it at all. From what I read there is no need to install a driver. I have even pressed the buttons on both side of the computer. I am trying to use it with PhotoBooth. Is there something I'm doing wrong or could it be a faulty camera?

Only some of the Logitech cameras are UVC compliant and will work.

Mine is listed as UVC compliant in that list but I know in some cases they change manufacturers, etc. and not all of a specific model is UVC compliant. Since I have VMWare/WinXP I'm going to try using it on the PC side so I can figure out if it's a hardware problem.

You have to be very sure and check the exact model number, not just the name - Logitech re-uses names.

I've bought two of the Logitechs using that answer list as a guide and both times had working cameras with iChat and PhotoBooth, no problems.

The xBox 360 camera is also UVC compliant, although not quite as high a resolution camera.
