Does anyone have the Panasonic HDC-SD5? I've read that the conversion into iMovie can take longer than realtime when bringing in clips, and other places its says it loads right in quick.

How long does it take to import a video into iMovie? Does it need to convert? I am looking at the camera for purchase and want to use it at the highest quality level. But want to make sure it works well with iMovie.

The issue is that they use a much higher compression than DV or HDV so it depends on your computer. It could take much longer or just a bit longer.
