The OCR software on my Canon LIDE500 scanner stopped working when I upgraded to Leopard. The scanner works fine with graphics. I re-installed the software; still not working. The Canon recommended on the Apple website (LIDE 600F) says it works with systems through 10.4. ANy recommendations?
Thanks.

Hey, neighbor. I'm very happy with my Canon MX310. Its newest drivers work better in Leopard than in Tiger for me (although I don't do OCR).

Canon's support for Apple SUCKS. I would not buy a Canon again. I had to buy VueScan to make it work with Leopard.

If Canon's support sucks, then they all do by that standard. What brand do you recommend?

I don't know - I only have experience with the Canon. It's possible that all other brands are as bad.

Take a look at Epson Perfection 4490. About 100$. Heard good things about it, but I don't own one.
Look on the internet for a review.
