Monitor image issues?

I've got a G4 Sawtooth that's running a AGP 16MB ATI Rage 128pro Graphics Card with a 17" CRT monitor hooked up to it. Last night, while working on a portfolio for one of my classes, I noticed the monitor starting to fluctuate on the image size. Not a lot, but noticeable enough to be annoying. Like suddenly the size will decrease slightly, then increase slightly, and constantly move between sizes in between.

Any idea what could be going on with it? Like I said, it's nothing major, just a bit annoying.

Your monitor is most likely failing.

It could be a poor connection where the cable plugs into the card, or the old graphics card going. Or even powerline fluctuations caused by heavy motors starting up. But the monitor dying would be my top guess.

I think your monitor is dying. If you have another computer, test your monitor on it.

TFTs are cheap these days, you'd do your eyes a favor if you replaced your monitor.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Yup, classic sign of a failing CRT.
