I don't do any fancy photography (I've got an 'old' Canon S45), I take the red-eye out and maybe crop the image but thats my limit.
I'd like to start geo-tagging my photos and I was wondering if anyone has a camera with built in GPS. Or if anyone has some sort of add-on GPS for the low to mid range cameras (not a SLR type).

There are a few GPS dongles out there that just record your position every few seconds. You can sync the data from the dongle with your pictures afterwards by comparing the time on the dongle data and the time your picture was taken (in the EXIF). Serious GPS devices that put the data directly into your EXIF when you take the picture only exist for higher end Nikon SLRs AFAIK (I'm contemplating on getting one of those myself).
Most of those dongles do NOT play well with the Mac at all. AMOD makes one that's supposed to be mac compatible. Do your research before buying one of those dongles.

Cheers Goldfinger, thats one of the things that worry me is the Mac integration.
mkerr64, thats a nice camera but does it 'do' geotagging? I couldn't find anything mentioned on dpreview. I have probs with my Sony Ericsson mobile and my Mac, and I always have issues with my mother-in-laws Sony camera importing to my Mac - does your T300 play nicely with your Apple gear?

mattyb, rather than a GPS dongle you could use a regular GPS device (I’m using a Garmin etrex, for example), which, as an added bonus, has several other benefits beside geotagging.
The work flow would be similar to Goldfinger's scenario:
- with the GPS device you record the “where” and “when” (time and GPS coordinates)
- then you download the GPS data to your Mac using, for example, LoadMyTracks
- and then, with a software like GPSPhotoLinker you can save the GPS coordinates to the EXIF data.
Works like a charm. No issues on my Mac.
Of course, you need to make sure that both the GPS device and your camera are set to the same time.
Oh, and I should mention that both LoadMyTracks and GPSPhotoLinker are freeware, which is very nice. (Big kudos to the developers.)

Sony has a geotagging module that plugs into all their current digital cameras. Lemme dig up a link... HERE
I don't have one, but I do have a compatible camera -- the Cybershot T-70. It works great with the Mac and with iPhoto. Overall I love the camera -- it's basically the cheaper version of the T-300 model. My only complaint about it is that it doesn't do great with fast-moving subjects, but I think that's a limitation of cameras this size. It's so tiny -- we took it to Disney and took over 300 pictures because it was so convenient.

Geo tagging, havent discovered that yet....
i just simple place the sony card into a card reader and it runs perfectly.
The simplistic design easily goes with my Mac Pro and the camera is great at taking pictures except the battery dies quickly
10.1 mp is also really nice
the screen is really big

I would definitely recommend one and get additional battery

Cheers for the replies guys/girls.
I'm going to look at the solution blitzi uses and maybe report back with some badly taken photos.
Thanks again.

OK, with GPS on the new iPhone, there has GOT to be someone who is going to produce the same sort of functionality as Garmin + LoadMyTracks + GPSPhotoLinker.
Christmas is going to be VERY expensive

you can also use this site: www.Trekinu.com
For the geotagging you will need the orginal photos from your trip and the GPX file from your GPS device that you use.
enjoy.
