I just installed an A/C in my room, and now my apple remote no longer talks to my computer, just my A/C

The Play button changes between Hi and Lo fan speed, and the left button controls between Fan and A/C. Is there a way to have it only talk to my computer

Oh but the good news is, now I can control my A/C from my bed

That is kind of awesome. While you can pair your remote to your mac, you're probably limited to some tape over the sensor on the a/c.

I'd like to know as well. That does sound pretty cool, although you're just trying to find out how to bring the signal back to your Mac.

the remote uses infrared, not radio frequencies, IIRC. Best bet is to find the infrared receiver port/window on your a/c unit and cover it up with an opaque material.

I think Jobs should show us this function on WWDC.

Did the A/C come with a remote ?
If yes, does that remote work on your Mac ?
If not, what's the normal way to operate the A/C ?
