I need to buy three new cordless telephone handsets for my home. The really critical feature for us is the page/locate feature --- you hit the button and the handset beeps until you can find it. We constantly lose our phones and really rely on this. Anyhoo, seems like most of the sets you buy, if they have a page/locate feature, only can trigger this from the main console, not the satellite handsets, which for us really defeats the purpose since we like to have one handset base on each floor of our three-story house.

Does anybody know of either a cordless (5.8Mhz) set that has page/locate on each and every handset, or handsets with this feature that are sold separately but can be used in concert?

The intercom feature is equivalent to paging. If you find a model that will let you use one handset to call another, it'll ring until you find it.

I own a Philips DECT 6.0. Whatever 2+ handset model they have on the market now should suffice, although I haven't been pleased with its sound quality.

Of course, mine doesn't allow this feature from the satellite handsets, only from the base, it appears. I'm not happy with the sound quality via the DECT 6.0 sets we have, either. Also, since the charger bases are in a fixed location, that's where I like to trigger to page, in part because each base is keyed to a particular handset; press the button on that phone's charger, and the phone you're looking for is the one that beeps.

I have an AT&T model E5912B 5.8GHz system, and it offers both intercom and handset location (all at the same time, but at least it's there). It's not DECT, but it's got lots to offer. We're wondering why we stayed wired for as long as we did!

I might have been interested in that, except that the satellite base does not appear to have a page/locate button.
