Hello,
I have a Hanss-G HW191A 19" LCD monitor that has some problems. On any machine I use, I cannot select the default resolution of 1440X900. I can select resolutions close, 1344X1008 and 1440X1050(on my MBP) and 1368Xsomething(on my desktop), but they don't work as well. I have tried on both Windows and OSX on my MBP and Vista on my desktop. I have been using the DVI to VGA adapter for the monitor to use on my MBP, BUT, I did not use the adapter on my desktop. I just used the VGA that the monitor comes with and it still didn't work correctly.

I don't think its about drivers since the monitor has been working perfectly since I got it a year ago without any drivers installed. And Hanns-G only has drivers for Vista anyway.

Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks a lot.

P.S not that this should make any difference but i have a GeForce 8600M GT on my MBP and a GeForce 6600 on my desktop.

SwitchResX on OS X or similar apps in Windows will let you choose arbitrary resolutions for your display.
