okay,

i just bought myself a time capsule 500GB for backing up an stuff..
I set everything up like i was supposed to.
i wanted it to join my existing network (which by the way doesnt support 802.11n; its a avm fritzbox 7170 with a, b, g bla bla)

(the techincal description of TC says that a,b,g are protocolls that are supported)

but the front light on my TC just keeps flashing up yellow. but my iMac finds it in airport app. but then again it doesnt connect properly to it. the connection "reading TC configuration" goes on and on... doesnt end.

neither does the TC work when i plug in the DSL cable to the WAN port.
unfortunately i dont have a ethernet cable to go that "caboulous way".

but hell, its saturday!! no shops are open anymore.

whats the matter?! please help me. im really desperate! this thing is actually so cool... or do i have to get a n network supporting router thingy?!

PLEASE help me!

When you have the Time Capsule plugged directly into a computer via Ethernet, can you connect to it via the Airport Utility?

If you can, what does the Airport Utility say about the error?

it sounds like the Airport utility has not been run.
i had issues similar to this.
once you run the utility the green light should go away if everything is working.
and yes i agree, you should initially set things up via an Ethernet cable.
