I'm looking for ways to reduce the wire clutter on my desktop, and have given some thought to a wireless keyboard. I like the general form factor of the aluminum wireless keyboard, but prefer the larger size (cursor keys in particular) of the wired aluminum keyboard.
(1) Does anybody think that there will be a full-size wireless keyboard coming out of Apple?
(2) How does the real-world performance of the wireless keyboard measure up to a wired keyboard? In particular, how is the performance in conjunction with a wireless mouse?

I don't think you'll notice a huge drop in performance of a wireless keyboard compared to a wired one.
I would say however, that batteries are a pain in the backside to change/re-charge/purchase.

I use apple's bluetooth keyboard and a logitech wireless mouse. I notice no performance difference using them compared to wired versions. I changed my keyboard's batteries last week -- the first time in five months.

Rechargeable batteries never work for me with the wireless keyboard. Says they're dead right away. Regular batteries last about 6 months, though.

That would be sweet, but I've read that Apple's current setup is as it is to lend portability to this keyboard for laptop use.

Generally, rechangeable batteries are only good for high drain devices. Devices that do not much use much power over a short amount of time (e.g., keyboards) are good only for regular batteries.
