Oops, never mind - found an even better price with free shipping from a more reputable company. If you're interested, check out the LN-40A330 on adorama.com.

Thank you for the links. I think Adoroma has the best price right now, although I didn't realize this was a 720p set until you pointed it out. That's okay though - the $200-$300+ I saved over the 1080p I can put toward a better set a couple years from now so that this one will be able to go to a bedroom after its main tour of duty in the den. It will definitely be an upgrade over the 27" standard def CRT there currently.

You know you can get a Panasonic 720p Plasma for around 750$.

Better blacks, better color saturation than LCD, and better movements.

Thank you, I thought about that, but this area has a lot of ambient light so I thought that would be an issue with a Plasma.

LCDs have fundamentally inferior images, but in bright light, they can pump out sheer volumes of light that are impossible from a plasma. So in a bright room, an LCD is probably better. (And it's not as though Samsung LCDs are in any way bad, I like them a lot.)
