My wife just bought me a MyDrive external HD and I'll have to use it both on my Mac an other people's Windows computers (work issues) and I was wondering what's the best way to take full advantage of my new hardware 250GB storage capacity.

So, what's the best way?
Leave it on NTFS (default) and add MacOS X NTFS write support?
Format to FAT32 and be limited to file sizes < 4GB?
Create 2 partitions, one Mac and one NTFS/FAT32? Would that be a problem in therms of data safety?

Appreciate some help...
Thanks!
Just because I built a little, am I now entitled to destroy my share?

"Leave it on NTFS (default) and add MacOS X NTFS write support?"

That is what I have done with the help of NTFS-3G and MacFUSE

I had formatted it with Disk Utility but once attached to a Windows PC, it has to be formatted again in order to get recognized… don't know why as I was not in front of the PC when that happened… fortunately the hard disk was empty. But now I can write and read it under OS X without any issue… oh well, I can't change the hard disk name but that's a minor gripe… I guess I could give it a try with VMware Fusion or leave it as is.
