I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for portable speakers that would work for an audience of 100 or more people.

We have a MacBook on a multimedia cart, but the little speakers we have just don't cut it. We need something that can project the laptop sound to a lot of people. It's used often for class assemblies, movies, presentations, and PTA meetings.

Would a PA speaker work? Need something that'll connect to a laptop with minimal fuss (mini plug.)

Ok, not sure how this is going to work. Can't be a PA speaker system, either.

The speakers have to be small enough to share the top of the cart with the laptop. PA speakers are way too big.

Heh, yeah. I was thinking about an old school boombox.

Well, another disaster averted. Slight modification to the new PA system being installed in the gymnasium, gonna have them put in three patch panels so a computer can hook up directly to the PA. This will work a lot better.

Ordered Artdio BT-328 18-watt stereo bluetooth speakers that can draw power off USB, D-cell batteries, or AC adapter. Also has 3.5mm plug for computers without Bluetooth. That should work well for the mini cart when they're in the Library or classroom. When they take it to the gymnasium, they'll just patch into the PA.
