So I just got a Mac Pro with an ATI 4870 video card. I have the DVI port hooked to my Samsung T260 but want to add another monitor. I am thinking of the Samsung P2270 which uses DVI-I. Reading Apples site, they have a MiniDisplay port to DVI, but it says its for DVI-D. I am confused which adapter I need. Will the simple $30 MiniDisplay port to DVI work or do I need a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter ($100+)

DVI-I (integrated) is a connector that puts out both a DVI AND a VGA signal through the same connector.

DVI-D is the same plug, but the analog pins (the four pins around the "cross" on the socket) simply aren't connected, as it's running a pure digital DVI signal.

Get the DVI adapter.
