I recently bought a new keyboard to upgrade from my old Logitech Cordless Elite duo, which worked flawlessly in OS X. I'm currently waiting on a Logitech RMA to get a new mouse, and I'm using my new G11 gaming keyboard.
I installed the software for it (the normal Logitech Control Center pref pane doesn't recognize it), but I still haven't fixed the odd problem of it swapping Cmd and Opt. It's damn annoying to expect opt+w to close a window, only to realize you have to use cmd+w.
If I plug back in my old cordless elite keyboard, its Cmd and Opt keys work correctly - but the G11's are still swapped.
I do have Witch installed as an alternate app switcher, but I do not have APE installed, so I don't think anything is hijacking the keyboard layout. I've checked in the Keyboard and Mouse pref pane, and I definitely have the default setup - no keys are swapped or anything. This is driving me damn crazy. Anyone know of a possible fix? I Googled a bit but didn't come up with anything.

I'm confused. Cmd+w is what you normally use to close a window, not opt+w. Is this just a typo, or were you really expecting opt+w to close the window?

Sorry...I meant it the other way. Opt works like Cmd, and Cmd works like Opt - but only with this keyboard. My other Logitech works as expected.
In any event, the keys are definitely swapped.
I haven't tried changing my system preferences so that the keys are swapped at the software level yet...I was kind of hoping I could find an explanation for why the keys are swapped at all.

Why does LCC not recognize the keyboard?
I seriously doubt this is a hardware issue, unless this G11 is normally a Windows keyboard, in which case the Windows key is used as command on the Mac, and alt is used as option.
I use a preference pane called DoubleCommand to make the enter key on my MBP act as forward delete. Maybe this, or other software (USB Overdrive) would help.

Changing system preferences took care of the problem - I just swapped the two keys. I doubt it'll be an issue, since I don't use any other keyboard on this setup.
The G11 is weird - it also doesn't show up in Logitech's own software for Windows. The only customization available to it is setting up the three sets of macro keys on the left side. Even configuring the media keys has to be done at an application level.
FWIW, the G11 doesn't have labels for functioning as a Mac keyboard, unlike my Cordless Elite. I suppose that may have something to do with it, as well.
