I'm in the market for a new point-and-shoot camera and I'd love the convenience of Wi-Fi. However, I'd be perfectly happy for it to just upload photos to my computer via my WLAN at home; I'd prefer it didn't bother uploading to a photosharing site b/c that's too slow and I don't always want to do that. Is this possible/practical?

How about a camera that's Wi-Fi capable out of the box?

Nikon Coolpix S610c
Sony DSC-G3
There aren't many of them so it really limits your choice on other features/capabilities.

How about the Canon Powershot SD430? It's only 5 megapixels, but that shouldn't matter much.

It's only 802.11b, which is going to be slow even with 5MP photos.
